  • In a monarchy, a king or queen rules that specific country and they come to power through their family. In current monarchies, the king and queen share power with other parts of the government. 
  • Anarchy
  • excuse me, can you tell me who's in charge here?
  • A dictatorship is when one leader has complete control over that country and the people. The dictator has control over the constitution and other other lawmaking bodies. 
  • Theocracy
  • An oligarchy is a small group of people with all the power. Sometimes, only a certain group has political power and rights. 
  • Direct Democracy

  • An anarchy is when no one is in control. This was more common before governments existed and people could freely associate with any nation or government.

  • A theocracy is a government that recognizes God as the authority. Religious laws are used to settle disputes and rule the country and people.
