  • WW1 ended and husbands started coming home to their families.
  • August 18, 1920
  • WOMEN'S VOTE
  • Prohibition made it illegal to make and sell alcohol. This lead to many boot ledgers.
  • Circa. 1925
  • 50% of the population in 1920 lived in the cities. Moving from Rural farms to urban cities.
  • October 24, 1929

  • The 19th amendment was passed giving women the right to vote. This started women becoming liberated.
  • Women now having the right to vote and after working in the factories started a movement deemed Flappers. They cut their hair, wore shorter dresses, smoked, and danced in clubs.
  • When the stock market crashed many people lost their jobs and homes since the stocks were bought on credit. The banks closed without giving money back to the owners.
