The Townshend Act 1765

The proclamation act was an act that didn't let the settlers go beyond the Appalachian mountains. It had also allowed England to be in control of the west ward expansion and this had made it like a "check" to the government. The results of the act was that it didn't work on the colonial expansion. Since it had failed, the settlers had continued to move across the crossing point and this had let them claim land. The only reason why it had failed was because it wasn't policed by the British troops.
The Boston Massacre 1770
The stamp act had been signed in 1765. This act was for the colonist to pay for tax on paper goods. The paper that they had bought had to have a stamp on it and that was there way to tell people that they had paid their taxes. The colonist were mad because they didn't want to be taxed. The stamp act was created in New York City. A man named Patrick had wanted a repeal on this act in 1766
The Tea Act and the Boston Tea Party 1773

1765 was when the Townshend act had happened and this was the new exchequer for the British. This is what started the quartering in 1765. it had also started the Townshend duties which was to put taxes on the GBR. This was also called the external taxes.
The Intolerable Act 1774
The Boston Massacre was when the colonist had got into a fight with a man named Hugh White. The colonist had started to throw thing at white and also hurt him. Then when someone that was next to a soldier they had shouted fire, and the soldiers had shot their guns into the crowd. 5 men had died and also one fee black man. This had also helped the sons of liberty to say that the British were evil.
This tea act was supposed to try and save the company of the East India British. This act was going to give some of the colonies tea, so the didn't have to pay any taxes. Then the leaders had said that they needed them to pay the tax, and the colonist didn't want to. So then the colonist had told them to take it back and they had refuses to take it back. 50 men had ended up dressing up like Indians to go throw the chest of tea into the ocean.
This was the response to the Boston tea party. This had closed Boston, if you were accused of crime then you would have to go to England, and that you must quarter the troops. This had got the colonist mad because they didn't want to quarter the troops if they weren't going to pay even a little bit. They kept getting mad because they are working for people and they didn't get anything out of it. It had also sparked resistance throughout the colonies.
