  • Jefferson Davis was born June 3, 1808 in Kentucky. He joined the military in 1824-1835 once he was done with college. When he began his political career, he was elected to the US house of Representatives in 1845. He then became President of the Confederate States in Feb. 9, 1861. He had soon died in Louisiana on Dec. 6

  • Abraham was born on the 12th of February during 1809. He was part of the Illinois State Legislature before becoming president. He then became president during 1861-1865. He was able to lead the country during the civil war. Then he soon gave his Gettysburg Address in 1863. Then in April 15, 1865 he was shot and killed at the Ford theatre.

  • On Jan. 19, 1807, Robert E. Lee was born in Virginia. He had joined the military to be able to have free education. Robert E. Lee was given the chance to be the General for the Union army in 1861, but didn't take it. He had soon become the General for the Confederates because of his hometown Virginia. He was also commander during the Battle of Antietam and the Battle of Gettysburg. He then died during the 1870s on October 12.

  • Grant was born April 27, 1822 in Ohio. He became the General of the Union army during 1864 also during the Civil War. He then had to battle against Lee Virginia.Since he had become popular, he became president in 1868. He had soon died in July 23 in 1885 due to throat cancer.
  • William was born in Feb. 29 of 1840 by a family of slaves. They were able to escape from the underground railroads. When the civil war first started, he wanted to join the Union Army. He then took part of the battle of Fort Wagner. Then he had soon died on December 9, 1908 at the Boston City Hospital.
  • Philip was born in Chile during 1838. He was a seamen who sailed on the U.S.S Santiago de Cuba. The boat was recruited by the Union Army. He was part of the battle of Fort Fisher. He then was able to receive an award which was the Medal of Honor. Then when December 28, 1923 came, he passed away.
