Bella is waiting on the side of the street outside the parties house. She had an argument with her mother and is not sure if her mother is coming to fetch her, Bella feels sick as she has been drinking.
I can't let him on the road!
I'm driving home. Are you coming or not Bella?
The boy she likes, Ty, has also been drinking and approaches her to ask if she needs a ride home. Bella becomes excited and happy, but, the direct pressure makes her nervous and she starts to question if he's ok to drive.
If I let him drive me home he could cause an accident and hurt both of us. If I stop him he could become aggressive, try to hurt me and won't like me anymore.
Bella recognises his speech is slurred and theres a strong scent of alcohol coming from his breath. He has sudden mood swings and drowsiness which is a short term effect of alcohol.
If I come up with another solution to get home, maybe Ty will stay with me and we could become closer. If he declines, I could call an uber for us...
Ty begins to lose his balance and becomes un coordinated whilst trying to walk to his car. Bella needs to make a decision but she can't let him drive, or drive him home because she has also been drinking.
Bella weighs up the pros and cons of the situation to identify if anything could go the right way or very wrong.
Bella identifies how another solution could be beneficial for the both of them and might stop Ty from doing something he might later regret.
