  • Pompeians did not have baths in their houses. So people went to the public baths to exercise, clean off and meet friends. Here, Metella and her friends are going to the baths.
  • This is nice
  • I think it is time to go in the hot room now
  • This room is called the Palestra which is also known as the exercise room. Metella and her friends are women and women would normally exercise by hoop rolling with a stick.
  • This room is called the apodytērium. This is the changing rooms. They give their clothes to the slavegirl- as Metella and her friends are doing here. Now they can got to the warm room.
  • I think it is time to clean ourselves
  • This room is the tepidārium which is the warm room. In this room they are sitting on a bench in a warm and steamy room. Metella and her friends are in here to prepare for the hot room which comes next.
  • Metella and her friends are entering the caldārium (hot room).
  • On the other side of the hot room there is a massive bath for people to sit in.
