  • Because it prevents other countries from being Communistic countries which helps reduce the spread of communism!

  • NATO is The North Atlantic Treaty Organization It is a policy of containment because each country that was involved promised to defend the other if attacked by Soviet powers.
  • What is the Korean War and how was it a policy of containment?
  • The Korean War was a war fought in Korea when the Soviet Union tried to push communist ideas into the country and America went to fight against them.  This is a policy of containment because we helped prevent communism from spreading to Korea. But sadly, it led to the division of Korea where North Korea is communist and South Korea is not.
  • Did you know the Vietnam War led to the country being split but was never stable enough to stay that way?
  • Yeah I did know that, did you know that after it fell they stayed a communist country?
