  • This was all I had and now it's all gone!
  • The Dust Bowl was a massive disaster in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico. It had to do with all the farming being done.
  • The need for grain in World War 1 caused there to be lots of farming and possible over use of a patch of land which can cause it go dry. farmers also had gas powered machinery now so they could farm more and faster which caused there to be more acres of land cultivated. Deep-rooted prairie grasses were dug up causing the ground to be exposed during the drought of the 1930s. then when the winds picked up it would blow dust and dirt all over the place.
  • "Some people developed “dust pneumonia” and experienced chest pain and difficulty breathing. It’s unclear exactly how many people may have died from the condition. Estimates range from hundreds to several thousand." Thousands of people migrated to get away from these dust cloud storms.
