  • Subject: Science-Water Cycle Grade Level: 5th grade California State Standard: 4b.Students know the influencethat the ocean has on the weather and the role that the water cycle plays in weatherpatterns.
  • It all starts with the ocean. The Sun helps the ocean get hot enough to cause something called EVAPORATION
  • Evaporation is the steam that goes up to the sky and makes the clouds
  • Think of clouds like water droplets on a table. If you push them close together they are attracted to each other and become one. Well, that is what happens in the sky with the clouds. Eventually, the water droplets become too heavy and we get precipitation.
  • Precipitation comes in many forms. It can be rain, snow or hail.
