The Great Gatsby (Chapters 4-9)

Storyboard Text

  • Gatsby has asked Jordan to convince Nick to arrange a reunion between Gatsby and Daisy, because he is terrified that Daisy will refuse to see him. Gatsby wants Nick to invite Daisy to tea. Gatsby intends to come to the tea party at Nick's house to surprise her.
  • On the day of the meeting Gatsby worries that even if Daisy accepts his advances, things between them will not be the same.
  • Tom and Daisy go to a party at Gatsby's house. Though Tom has no interest in the party, his dislike for Gatsby causes him to keep his eye on Daisy.
  • Tom mocks Gatsby's habit of calling people "old sport". He accuses Gatsby of lying about going to Oxford. He also asks Gatsby what his intentions are for Daisy, and Gatsby replies that Daisy loves him and not Tom
  • Wilson looks for Myrtle's killer, and assumes that the killer was affiliated with Tom the day of the incident. He visits Gatsby's house, shoots him, and then shoots himself.
  • Nick tried to hold a large funeral for Gatsby, but all of Gatsby's friends either disappeared or refused to come.
