This case left a huge impact on both the legal and the school system. This case established that school officials do not need a warrant to search students and that they only need reasonable suspicion to do so.
Criminology - Ms. Emond
In my opinion, I think the court made the right decision. Although I agree that students may lose some rights at school, it's generally for the safety of the school community as a whole. Also, requiring administration to obtain a warrant could put students and teachers in danger during an emergency.
