  • Discuss
  • How was your experience of working with others today?
  • Email
  • Establish that the student has a persistent issue with social skills. In this example, the refusal to work with others is clearly a behavioural issue that needs addressing.
  • Meet
  • A one-to-one discussion with the student with follow-up monitoring may address the situation.
  • Follow-Up
  • Initial contact with parents can be by email. This email can outline the issue and explain the possible issues it is causing.
  • Monitor
  • A face to face meeting with parents and senior management may be called to discuss next steps. Planning at this stage will also include steps that parents can take to help the situation.
  • Once time has been given for all follow-up strategies to take place, contact can be made with the parents again by phone or email.
  • Ongoing monitoring in class will help with follow-up contact and determine the efficacy of strategies being implemented.
