Storyboard Text

  • The French resistance wanted equality for the three estates and freedom from the french monarch. The main points of the declaration were fraternity and natural rights.
  • The women of France were growing tired of the unfair king. No one had food, and everyone was hungry. So, women marched to King Louis' palace, and raided the castle. But they also stole all of the bread for the hungry people.
  • The french people plotted against the government. One day, French forces, the Jacobins, captured King Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette. The Sans-Culottes of France imprisoned the king and his wife.
  • The National Convention declared King Louis XVI and Marie guilty of treason, or being a traitor to their country. This group of radical thinkers agreed on their sentence, which was death.
