  • One more try can't hurt
  • I heard about people at the Perkins institute.
  • I will not spend any more money on doctors who don't do any good
  • ok
  • I think I will do it myself. I have brought Helen a little present.
  • James bring in her bag.
  • Mr. and Mrs.keller were gathered around baby Helen's crib in Tuscumbia, Alabama. They had just met up with a doctor who diagnosed Helen with acute congestion. After the doctor and Captain Keller had left the room, Mrs.keller was playing around with Helen. Suddenly, Kate noticed that Helen couldn't hear or see her. She was frightened and called for Captain Keller. He rushed into the room and when Kate had first told him what happened he didn't believe her. Then he noticed that what she said was true. They wee frightened and scared that their new baby was deaf and blind.
  • Finally! What a spoiled, unmannered child you are
  • Aunt Ev, Mrs.Keller, Mr.Keller, Helen, and James were in the living room. They had been trying to get doctors and teachers to help Helen and maybe even "fix" her. Mr.Keller was done with spending money on doctors that didn't do any good and didn't help one bit. Aunt Ev had brought up that she had heard wonderful things aboyut people at the Perkins institute. Mrs.Keller agreed that they should try atleast one more time because anything as better than nothing. Mr.Keller finally gave in and agreed to try one last time.
  • Finally you have ubtained some maners. But I still dont know how to make u understand that things have names and names are things.
  • Mrs.Annie was the teacher that they had just gotten to help Helen from the Perkins institute. She had been partially blind and had had 9 surgeries on her eyes. Because she had experiences like Helen, she hoped it would be an advantage to teaching her. They had just arrived at the Keller house. It took a little bit but Kate and Annie had realized that they like each other and hoped they would get along. Right when they arrived, Anne was anxious to meet Helen. She had brought her a doll and Helen was excited, but curious.
  • W, A, T, E, R Water! Water!
  • wah! wah!
  • Annie and the Keller's had been enjoying a nice breakfast till she noticed that Helen kept sticking her hands in everyone's food. Annie would not let this happen and so she help Helen's hand and told everyone to leave. they were fighting and the room was a mess. Annie first had to teach Helen to eat on her own plate. Helen finally did and then she spit her food on Annie. After that Annie splashed the pitcher of water on Helen. Helen noticed what was going on but she didn't investigate. After that, it took a while and she had to repeatedly but the spoon back in Helen' hands but she got Helen to eat with her spoon on her own plate and fold her napkin
  • Annie had talked to Mr. and mrs.Keller. They had agreed to let Annie take Helen to the garden house and make it furnished so that they could stay there for 2 weeks with Percy (their slave). Although they could see Helen, Annie said that Helen was not allowed to know they were there. While they were at the garden house, Annie taught Helen manners and sign language but Helen still didn't Know that things had names and those names meant something. This is what frustrated Annie and made her want more time by herself with Helen. But Mr. and Mrs.Keller did not allow Annie more time.
  • Helen had just come home from the welcoming dinner for Helen. At the dinner she was starting to misbehave again. Annie told Mr.Keller that he should not baby Helen again because if he did that then all of the work that Annie did would be gone, he agreed. But, at the dinner, Mr.Keller did not stick with his word after spilled the pitcher of water on Annie. Annie made Helen come outside and refill the pitcher. While they were doing that, Helen suddenly was feeling the water and said, "wah, wah". This was a big moment because it is when Helen really knew that thing had a name and that name meant something. This was also a big breakthrough for Annie because she finally felt like she did her job and succeed at it. This is the miracle that makes the miracle worker the miracle worker. This is also when everything fell into place.
