This storyboard features Nyreak who is a 13 year old girl born in a low SES village in Sudan. She nor her family have access to clean water. Througthout the story, readers are able to see the impacts of unsanitsed water consumption however, a solution will is created to reduce the impacts of consuming contaminated water.
Nyreak is 13 years old and lives in a low SES village in Sudan with 7 of her family members
Nyreak needed to supply water to her family. She needs to walk 15km to reach a riverbank which contains high amounts of bacterial contamination.
Nyreak endures frequent pain in her abdomen area becuase of drinking contaminated water however, she continues to do so as it is her only option to combat her thirst.
Nyreak is serverly ill. She has been diagnosed with Chlorea due to the contamination of feaces in the water. Not long after, more members of the village got sick.
United Nations URGENT: must supply immediate water pump filters to the village of Bahr el Ghazal of Sudan.
The strategy implemented by the UN supports the health and wellbeing of the community as they now have access to clean water which decreases the chances of developing contaminated water illnesses. This strategy supports SDG 6 and in turn connects to SDG 3.
