What about the rocks? I forgot why most of the rocks on Earth are younger than Earth itself.
Most of Earth's rocks are younger because when the Earth melted, it erased most of the impact craters. Some rocks that did not melt have been found today, but for the most part Earth's original rocks were melted.
Is that the only reason?
No, also weathering and erosion have worn down layers of the Earth and earth's rocks. The rocks that formed when the Earth was formed only exist in certain places because they were not melted by volcanoes or worn out by erosion.
Erosion is the natural act of wearing something down or slowly destructing it, right?
Thats right! You remember!
