Storyboard Text

  • "How long will you be gone, Honey?"
  • "Just a few weeks, you will be fine, Dear." 
  • "LET ME OUTTA HERE!!!"
  • Solomon speaks to his wife about her pending trip as a cook.
  • Solomon wakes up after being drugged by men who capture him and sell him into slavery.
  • "Yes, Sir, Master Epps." 
  • "Are you listening to me, Platt!!!????"
  • Solomon becomes a slave named Platt and works at Master Ford's plantation.
  • Platt upsets an overseer at the Ford Plantation and is hanged from a tree as an example. This shows the other slaves that they need to obey.
  • Platt begins aging and is working at Master Epps's plantation. Epps is a cruel master who beats and rapes his slaves. He meets Patsey, who is the enslaved person enduring Epps's mistreatment the most.
  • Solomon is helped by Bass and he is able to prove he is free and escapes slavery. When he returns to his family, he realizes he is now a grandfather.
