Hi sweetie, now really isn't a good time your brother hasn't taken his nap today.
Hello Mia... Honey can you please make the baby stop crying I was trying to rest!
Hi everybody I'm home!
I guess I'll unpack and then go help Mama with dinner.
Mia has recently been struggling with being away at school and misses her crazy Latino family. She decided at the end of her first year that she would take a break from the college life and take a year off from school.
Hi sweetie, would you mind making dinner again I have to change the babies diaper. Also, tomorrow if you wouldn't mind could you run to the market and get somethings for me.
Mia has arrived a home after not seeing her family for over five months and thought they would be a little more welcoming then they were. But she is excited to be home and be able to rest and help out with her little brother.
Falling Action (B)
Why do I have to do everything? I just want to take a quick nap then I will go help Mama. I'm exhausted and just want to be able to sleep for once in my life. At school I could take all the naps I wanted.
Mia begins to think that maybe her family will warm up to her being home, and be more welcoming once she starts to help out with the little one. Only she does not know that her Mama will be the one taking care of the baby and she will become the chef, the maid and new housewife all in one.
Honey we really do appreciate everything you do for us and helping around the house. Please don't leave, I promise we will back off and cut you some slack.
After about three months at home Mia is more tired and as stressed as she was at school. Her baby brother is keeping her up through the night and she is trying to help her Mom out at the same time, but its beginning to become too much for her to handle. Mia wonders maybe if going back to school would have been a better option.
Ummm... Sure Mama, could you write me a list.
Mia wonders if she should just go back to school. Maybe it wasn't as bad as she thought the first time and should give it another try. Plus it is another excuse to leave and get away from being a second mother and instead become a student once again.
Mia can you clean the bathrooms, sweep the floors, and dust the house, we don't want the baby to get sick.
Mia finally sits down with her parents at the end of the summer, debating if she should just return to school instead of staying home for another long year. Her parents explain that she really has been a huge help and they want her to stay since they know that she has been struggling with being away. They promise that they will give her extra time to herself and give her a little more appreciation for what she does.
There is no need to leave Mia, we love having you at home, but we understand if you want to do your own thing.
I think its time for me to head back to school, I just don't believe I belong here with you guys focusing all your attention on the baby.
