  • What is silent trade? A popular way of trading used in West Africa(People don't talk or see each other.) Who used silent trade? The Wangarans and the berbers. Why was silent trade used?so there wasn't conflict to get goods. Where did silent trade take place? Along river banks in the southern forests of West Africa.
  • Makayla, Tuti, Elijah, Dylan
  • The Caravans arrived bringing wool, silk, cotton, dates, figs, grains, leather, and salt.
  • They spread out their good along the river.
  • The traders beat on a drum to announce their offering a trade.
  • Then they walked several miles away from the trade site.
  • When the Wangarans heard the drum, they traveled to the site by boat.
