Well, for starters India is a very populated country. Every other county that was able to achieve nuclear reactors are sparsely populated and therefore can afford it. But India? With the amount of poverty and natural resource sustainability issues, It isn't wise that we prioritise spending money on miscellaneous energy output.
More importantly many accidents occur in them as they are confined, radiation can spread quickly and be very deadly as it has the ability to cause cancer, mutations and other health problems such as the ones in Hiroshima Nagasaki. This will not only affect the workers but all the surrounding inhabited areas.
Oh... does that mean we can not use nuclear energy for our advantage at all then?
Even though these plants are beneficial to no air pollution as they don't produce any green house gases, they do create a lot of radioactive waste which is toxic and can be extremely harmful to us and the environment.
Well, now that is a question we all can look into. What do you all reading this think? Is using nuclear energy in India a wise decision?
