Darry V.S Ponyboy
Burning Church Setting affected Ponyboy
Johnny affected Ponyboy
Before the Curtis's parents died, Darry was a fun and happy person. Although, after their death, he became strict, and pretty much mean to Ponyboy. Ponyboy hated Darry, out of his brothers he prefers Sodapop. Then, when Pony runs away, Darry feels like he failed his family. After Pony comes home, Darry is super relieved. Then Pony realizes Darry is only hard on him because he cares about them.
The burning church scene affects Ponyboy because it could've been their fault. He felt horrible, he realized that they almost killed some kids. This affected Pony because he realized that one careless mistake could kill someone.
When Johnny was in the hospital, the whole gang was worried. Even Dally, who supposedly didn't love anyone. Then, when Johnny died, it affected everyone. Dallas was hammering the wall, he was sad that Johnny died. This proved to Pony that even people like Dallas could care for someone.
