Scene 1 Duration: 0:00 -0:17
Scene 2 Duration: 0:18 -0:34
Scene 3 Duration: 0:35- 0:50
The first scene of the music video will capture the main character JP, sitting on the bench with the main girl. This helps the audience to realise that the narrative will be a 'boy meets girl narrative' where there will be a close up and mid shot of the two characters. The girl will then turn to her friends leaving JP feeling neglected. A zoom out shot will the be used showing people walking as well establishing the setting. A tracking shot that will then lead to a close up shot of JP walking from the scene with disappointment.
Scene 4 Duration: 0:51 - 1:40
Scene 2 will enter in from a whip pan from the previous scene where the location will be in Shoreditch. Between these scene, filler shots will be included as well shots showing JP lip syncing in order to keep a good flow. Furthermore, in this scene we'll see JP by himself (full shot)but an over the shoulder shot will be used showing JP calling the main girl on his phone (Close up shot of the phone). Multiple shots will be used to capture the facial code of JP in this situation for- which it will show him looking miserable.
Scene 5 Duration: 1:41 -2:00
After the over the shoulder shot of JP on the Phone, a flash back will show him near a gate with the girl, hugging her. The gate will have locks these locks symbolise long lasting relationships which is ironic as their relationship is not like this. A pan shot of the two hugging will be created where it will come back to the scene with him opening his eyes. The audience will be well aware that he has feelings for her however, she is not picking up the phone therefore suggesting she doesn't feel the same way abut him
Scene 6 Duration: 2:30 - 3:27
Following the scene before, a full shot will capture JP walking off in disbelief which will be captured by a close up shot as well. Filler shots will again be used between these transitions including JP lip syncing and him entering on a train after finishing walking to his destination (train station). During this whole scene the song will be upbeat. The idea of this scene is too show the emotional pain he's feeling from his situation for which his facial code, action code and gesture code will signify this in this scene.
At the start of this scene it will show JP getting off the next train station (full shot) where he will be heading to his house. The setting will be established with an Arial shot. The scene will cut to JP lying on his bed at his house where he will be consistently be checking his phone (Loose frame shot will be used - empathizes loneliness) when he then receives a phone call from the girl he likes telling him to come to a party (she's a little drunk) where during the phone call a split screen- shot will be used showing JP on one side looking depressed contrasting to the other side, where the girl is shown having fun.
A whip pan shot will lead to the party showing people dancing and having a good time. Filler shots will be used here with JP getting ready and changed for the party (he's excited during this part - hope). A mid shot will be used to show him entering the party with many people hand shaking him, boosting his confidence. As he walks in the house further he sees (over the shoulder shot) the girl he likes flirting and hugging another guy. A close up shot will be used to display his devastation with a tracking shot following him storming out of the party. A high angle shot will then be used to show him sitting on a wall by him self however, another girl comes to comfort him.
