  • Time is up. Hey you cheated!
  • Cell Boy and the Mitosis Test - Musa Huq
  • Cell Boy is writing a test on Mitosis. He was busy in interphase, growing, copying D.N.A., and producing extra organelles, preparing for his division, so he forgot to study for the test. He decides to begin the process as fast as he can during the test.
  • Interphase!
  • I'm ready to divide. If I do it now I'll know the answers.
  • His chromatin gets denser and becomes chromosomes. The centrioles move towards the poles and form spindle fibres. The nuclear envelope breaks down and each chromosome is connected at it's centromere by a spindle fibre. He remembers that he's in prophase
  • Prophase
  • Spindle fibres attach themselves to the centrible. The fibres push and pull lining up the chromosomes in the centre of the cell.
  • Metaphase
  • Hurry Up! Time's almost up
  • The chromosomes separate and move to opposite ends of the cell.
  • Anaphase
  • The chromosomes unwind in the newly forming nuclei. The cytoplasm is split and organelles go the the cells they belong to.
  • Telophase
  • Cytokinesis
