From the very beginning:
Kadin was so excited about going to school. He wanted to make new friends and learn all that he could.
The teachers met with his parents. They wanted to have him tested. The parents agreed. The results of the test were that he had NO learning problems.
Kadin loved to learn. He watched all of the learning shows on television. He amazed his parents with how fast he understood stories that were read to him. He recognized words and knew how to count to 20! He was full of joy, energy, and was loving to everyone he met.
When Kadin started kindergarten everything seemed to be going well. But then he began to show signs of possibly having ADHD. He talked too much and had difficulty staying in his seat during independent work.
A few years go by and Kadin goes from loving to learn to believing he must be stupid. The teachers keep him separated from other students causing him to feel isolated. What about testing him for a high intelligence? What could the teachers have done differently?
