I am NEVER going to be as good as Jessica. My reading disability always gets in the way of me being able to read the music that Mrs. Jones gives me
I know that Matthew has a learning disability and this is why they are struggling so much with the music. The content in the class is so rigorous sometimes I think I should have left them in the concert band
Music Class Rocks!!
I want to support Matthew but I also don't want them to feel like an outcast due to their disability. In order to do this I will make sure that I "honor their desire to learn what their peers are learning and to receive supports in ways that do not require that they be reduced to a label or segregated from their classroom"(Collins & Ferri, 2016, p.3).
Just because I have a disability, that doesn't mean that I don't want to be "challenged to engage in discipline specific practices and habits of mind in [my] own way" (Gravel, 2018, p. 31).
I can't wait to practice together now!!!
In order to help all of us become better music readers, I will upload all of our music onto smart music so you can practice your music at home online with a metronome and tracker to help you stay with the music
