The 4th of July is supposed to be a celebration of Independence, for you it may be, but not for everyone. Slaves still don't have freedom.
America had the chance to be great, after we got out from under the British Crown, but America has yet to adopt modern ways. The government is oppressed, unreasonable, and unjust.
African-Americans are treated with scorn, indifference, and coldness, and the date you celebrate isn't all you think, the country was in a bad state at the time the declaration was signed, separated, scattered, and weak.
The men that signed the declaration were great, wanting more for the country than themselves, but is this what they would want?
There isn't peace between races, we are separated in this country, and some may have justice and freedom, but some are slaves.
Make the past useful to the present, and make it better for the future. If you truly want to celebrate freedom as a country, give it to everyone, end slavery.
