  • I did not know that a Taran was a horse that became extinct in the 1800's!

  • Wild means not domesticated. My dog is not wild.
  • The White Rhino is an example of a wild and endangered species.
  • Mrs. W, DId you know that a Taran is a horse that became extinct in the 1800's?
  • I know that the Mountain Lion is wild. He is my favorite animal.

  • I found  a cause and effect relationship on this page!
  • Look on page 172. I found a cause and effect relationship.  It says that Tree Kangaroos came out because it was sunny and warm. This is cause and effect!

  • HaHaHaHaH....Mrs. Wennen, you are so funny! You made such a silly expression! You are so much fun!
  • Isn't something suppose to happen to the balloon? It didn't inflate.
  • UGHH! My Science Experiment FAILED!
  • Even though the experiment crashed and burned, I kept the atmosphere positive and light! We laughed together!
  • Hummmmmm...What went wrong? Get a grip...don't panic. Hey, I got the idea from YouTube!
  •  A highlight of teaching was I was able to engage my students in conversations. I was not afraid to learn from my students. I had such wonderful discussions with my students because of being open to where the discussion was taking me. I am a strong leader when it comes to leading discussions.

  • The students did a great job of working with partners on their graphic organizers. I paired High Ability students together with the graphic organizer and different text on readworks.org. I paired my At-risk students with my average students. They worked on the main story. The partners complemented each other well.  An adaptation I used for gender was having the boys sit on the floor.

  • Answer these 4 questions on cause and effect. Try your best and take your time.
  • They ROCKED the assessment!
  •  My science experiment failed. I was quick to think to bring it up on YouTube. The students were able to watch it and see how it was supposed to have  worked. I related that experiment to the cause and effect relationships that were  in the story. The experiment went great with the introduction to my topic on cause and effect. The students did a great job of pointing out cause and effects througout the reading of the story. I just wish that my experiment would have worked. It would have been better live than video.

  • Habitats, people, and other animals are ways that make animals endangered.
  • The text that my CT and I chose for my lesson was a perfect fit for these students.  The prereading story gave background knowledge for the wild and endangered Tree Kangaroos. The reading helped the students get an idea of what type of animal the Tree Kangaroo was. They were able to understand that Tree Kangaroos lived in the wild and were endangered. They compared the domesticated pets at their house to the Tree Kangaroos. They understood the difference between domesticated and wild and endangered. 
  • This is going to be an interesting story!
  • The majority of the students scored a 4/4 on the cause and effect assessment. I was so proud that they were able to do so well on the skill that I taught that day. This class did a great job of paying attention and participating. This helped in the outcome of t he scores. I was very pleased with them.

  • These 20 kiddos are amazing. I love each and every one of them! I thoroughly enjoyed being in this class and working with them. They made time in their class enjoyable. They made me feel welcomed from the beginning. I truly feel that I built relationships during the time I was there. I made it a point to be there three to four times a week. This made a difference. I just did not pop in and complete my assignment. I took the time to show up each day.
