Computing Innovation Project: Maps on Iphone
Maps on iPhone is a GPS that allows for simple and effective travel. It provides real time step by step instructions on how to get to your desired location. It includes numerous types of transportation such as biking, driving, walking, and public transit (Buses, Trains)
For example, lets say your looking for a nearby grocery store but you're unfamiliar with the area. You can go on maps on iPhone and look up Target or Walmart. The app will provide multiple locations closets to you if you have locations services on. It will tell you how far it is, estimated traffic and time, and ratings of the place. This can be extremely useful when your new to an area.
Maps on iPhone has voice directions so you don't have to keep looking at your phone while driving. This can be useful because it can prevent accidents.
"In 400 feet take a left turn onto Boulevard road"
iPhone's have had a huge economic impact because as time goes by, more people purchase them. According to data collected by the lifeware, in 2010, after the iPhone 3GS released 50 million purchases were made. In 2017 after the iPhone 7 was released. 1.16 billion sales had been made.
Therefore, increased purchases of iPhone's means more people are using their iPhone's for everyday tasks such as traveling.
