During a battle Odysseus and his shipmates were blown far off course. Odysseus spotted an island where he could hear the bleating of sheeps, so they decided to travel there.
They found a cave with a huge goat pen outside it, and inside found all the cheese and meat that they could possibly eat! Until the shepherd who owned the cave came home.
who are you?
He was one of the Cyclopes and was named Polyphemus, giant blacksmiths who had built Olympus for the gods.
The cyclops rolled a boulder over the mouth of the cave and ate two of the men. He then went to sleep with the other men trapped inside, and repeated the same the next day. But Odysseus had a plan.
He gave Polyphemus some potent wine that he hadbrought on the ship, and he fell asleep. But before he asked who Odysseus was, and he replied "no body". Polyphemus said he liked him and would eat him last.
Odysseus and his men blinded the cyclops with a sharp stick. But unfortunately he woke up and caught them all, he was very angry. But they managed to hang onto the sheep and escape when they went to graze on the pastures.
