This shows how brave Katniss is because she volunteered for the Hunger Games in her sisters place. This is significant because it shows everyone how she cares so deeply for her sister. If Katniss didn't volunteer I don't think the story would be as exciting and in this moment it shows what kind of person Katniss is. This also shows heroism because I want someone brave, they are the ones who will do anything to save the ones they love or innocent people. She cares deeply for Prim.
Katniss is bold because when there was a private session with the Game Makers, they ignored her so she shot an arrow through an apple at the Game Makers. Katniss was there for her sister when no one else was there.
Katniss puts her name into the tesserae so she gets oils and food for her family so she is self-less.
