  • This is when the narrator starts to go crazy over the vulture eye.
  • " It is impossible to say how the idea first entered my mind, but once conceived it haunted  me day and night ."
  • Rising Action
  • The Narrator stalks the old man for seven nights waiting for the vulture eye to open.
  • "His room was as black as pitch with the dark thickness and so I knew he could not see opening of the door so I kept pushing steadily, steadily."
  • Climax
  • The  narrator enters the room for the 8th night and the vulture eye is open so he attacks the old man and kills him.
  • Falling Action
  • The neighbors hear the old mans scream and they call the police and they come to the door the narrator tells them it was his scream
  • "It was my own dream"
  • Falling Action
  • The narrator thinks the police hear the old man's heartbeat, so he confesses to the police
  • I killed him
  • The police dig up the old man from the floorboards and put the narrator in jail for murder.
  • Resolution
