  • Resolution
  • On the eighth night while the narrator chuckles to himself he wakes up the old man and he can see the vulture eye open for the first time.
  • While the narrator continues to watch him he begins to hear a low dull quick sound. When the old man feels that the narrator is in the room, he screams and the narrator kills him because he doesn’t want the neighbors to hear him.
  • When the policemen come because a neighbor heard the scream, the narrator is cool at first and then while the police finish searching the house the narrator ends up confessing because of the “low dull quick sound” was driving him mad.
