  • The story starts with the protagonist named Mantessor talking to the reader about what he has done to protected his name. He starts telling the reader about how he killed the man named Fortunato for insulting him.the setting is calm.
  • Climax
  • His story starts with him tacking about Fortunato and how he knows a way to kill him. After this Mantessor walks over to Forunato how is dressed as a jester to tell him about the a cask of Amontillado he bout.Then he asked him if he would taste it. Fortunatos costume is irony.
  • Falling Action
  • haha lets go home
  • Mantessor shows Fortunato to his cellar where he gives him a glass of wine before going into the catacombs. After Mantessor pores wine for them both he totes to Fortunatos long life this is irony.
  • Resolution
  • As they go deeper into the catacombs Fortunatos cough worsens and Mantessor tells him they shoud go back but Fortunato claims he is fine. After this they reach the end and Mantessor tells Fortunato that the Amontillado is in a small room in the wall.
  • When Fortunatos back is turned Mantessor chained him to the wall. Than began to stack bricks in front of him. Fortunato begins to laugh saying that is was a good joke but Mantessor keeps staking. Later Fortunato screams for help but stops after mantessor screams back at him.
  • Before Mantessor adds the last brick he looks in at the chain Fortunato then sets the last brick in its place. After gathering his things he asks if Fortunato is still there then walks away. This shows that revenge is a strong motivator.
