The Narrator tells us he is not made just nervous and diseased. Then and the Narrator said he could tell us the whole story calmly. The antagonist also the Narrator plans to kill the old man because of his white eye or vulture eye. The Narrator liked the old man the only thing that bothers him is his white eye.The white eye is the only thing that leads the Narrator to killing the old man.

The Narrator wants to prove he is no insane this is only the start of the suspense also lead to the exposition. The Narrator is very kind to him that week before that night. Every night the Narrator will stalk the old man at 12:00 dead on the hour of the night this symbolizes foreshadowing. At 12:00 the Narrator will peak into the room and open the light of the lamp just enough to see the eye. The next day the Narrator will ask him how he sleep so he could see how he sleeps.

The old man wakes up at night due to the narrators chuckling on the 8th night. The narrator and the old man have a one hour stand off neither of them move, their was only silence. The narrator opens the lamp just more than a spiders thread and sees the vulture eye and this rages the Narrator. The Narrator starts to hear a low dull quick sound. The low dull quick sound starts to get louder and starts to annoy the Narrator this is internal conflict. The narrator gets a new fear of the neighbor hearing a heart beat.

The Narrator doesn't want the neighbores hear the heart beat. The Narrator can no longer take the sound and makes a move. The Narrator run in the room and the old man shrieks. The narrator flips the bed and suffocates the old ma with the bed. The Narrator felt relived now and the heart beats stop this sentence end the climax .
The Narrator needs to find a way to hide the evidence so the Narrator cuts up the body in the bathtub. Then he hides the body under the floor boards with no blood splotches anywhere. The police arrive because the neighbor heard the shriek and called the police. The Narrator invites the police to stay. The narrator places the chair over the floor board and sits over the dead body.
The Narrator started to hear ticking while talking to the police. The ticking gets louder the Narrator started to stud-er and slur words. The author starts to think that the ticking is the old mans heart beating. The supposedly the old mans heart beat gets so load that the narrator starts to completely lose sanity and start throwing stuff to make the noise stop. Finally the Narrator confesses to the police about killing the man because the noise was so loud.
