  • His son asks him why he brought him here. Montressour is explaining to his son what happened 50 years ago. Of how he planned Revenge for a man named Fortunato. The conflict is that Montressour wants revenge for Fortunato without being caught. setting is the cave.
  • Climax
  • Montressour is persuading Fortunato that he has Amontillado. When really he does not have any Amontillado. Montressour does not want Fortunato when he really does. Montressour only leads by telling him not to come.
  • Falling Action
  • Montressour notices Fortunato has a really bad cough. He tells Fortunato to go back to the carnival. Fortunato denies the request. Instead, Montressour keeps giving Fortunato drinks to make him drunk. Irony is Fortunato is dressed a jester, he is being made a fool.
  • Resolution

  • Once they are there, Montressour chains up Fortunato to walls. Fortunato plans to kill him by putting in bricks in front of him to block oxygen from getting to him. Fortunato asks to be gone and Montressour says yes.
  • Yes, For the love of god
  • Fortunato is trying to escape from chains. Fortunato can not get out. Fortunato starts to scream at Montressour. Montressour starts to scream back. Irony is Fortunato is not going to be very Fortunate.
  • Montressour kills Fortunato because Fortunato gets no air. Montressour covered with the bricks. He also put in front ''requiescat in pace''. Which means rest in peace.
