Edgan Allan Poe's short, the tell tale heart", is about a man who plots to murder a old man because the old man's vulture eye. The antagonist of the story is the narrator. The narrator proves though out the story his sanity, however he just showing how mad he is.
The narrator tries to prove how wise he is by telling us how he planed the murder. For seven nights, he comes in the old man's room. The narrator however cannot kill him because the eye was never open.
I sould cut the body in the bath and dran the blood.
Suspense builds on the eight night when the narrator opens the door and slips on the lantern then the old man wakes up. A ray of light from the lantern shows the vulture eye. The narrator starts to hear a low dull quick sound. the narrator thinks the beating is getting louder. Seeing this gives him the rage to kill the old man.

The climax of the story is when he drags the old man and smother him with the mattress and suffacaticed him to death.

He dismembers the body in a bath tube and wash the blood down the dran. Then the narrator hides the body under some floorboards. The police arrive to the house because the neighbors heard a shreik. At first the narrator let the police search the house thinking that he will get away with murder. Then he starts to hear a beating sound. The narrator flips out when the sound gets louder
The narrator confesses to the murder and shows the body because he was fulled with guilt. The beating of the heart stand for his guilt.
