Hephaistos was the god of fire, volcanoes, blacksmiths and craft workers. He was Hera’s and Zeus’ son. Hephaistos was lame and not good looking like the other gods; Hera, his mother, was horrified by his imperfections and threw him out of Mount Olympus in disgust. He lived inside a volcano where he was raised by Thetis. Hephaestus became well known by mortals for making beautiful and useful things. He was also known for making Zeus’ lightning bolts. He was married to Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty. She was pretty, as the rarest pearl under the sea.
Rising Action 3
A few days after, Aphrodite started acting unusual; she was very suspicious. She would leave Hephaistos for an extremely long amount of time and when she come back home, she would act like nothing even happened. She was always making excuses of why she left. When Aphrodite leaves again Hephaistos decided to go look for her. He ran like the horses run in a sunny day. First, he went to the cities of Athens; named after his sister Athena; he asked a lot of people if they have seen Aphrodite but most of them said no, except for one person. One mortal named Arena said that she saw her walking in the city, but it was a long time ago. Hephaistos got excited at first because he thought he would know the truth but after his hopes disappeared like if he deleted of his mind. The second city he went was the city of Patras. He asked the same thing to the people of this city but this time the people did the opposite thing. All the people in this city answer his question which made him a little comfortable with his thoughts. Most of the people said that she was there not a long time ago. They said that Aphrodite looked like if she was looking for someone but apparently, she didn’t find anyone. One specific person called Amelia told him that Aphrodite was spending time with someone that looked like a god. She never told him who it was because if she told him she could get punish by Aphrodite.
