  • The times that Fortunado has insulted me has made me do what you may say is the unthinkable...
  • Rising action one
  • Amontillado?

  • nonsense! the cough is nothing
  • we must leave, you have a cough
  • Montressor begins to explain the tale of Amontillado. This was in the catacombs where Fortunado died from 50 years ago. Fortunado had always been insulting towards and he did not like that therefore he felt Montressor should be punished.
  • Climax
  • ahhhhhhhh!
  • Montressor asks F. if he would test expensive wine at an Italian festival for him and F. is hesitant at first then M. says he will ask someone else but Fortunado gets jealous of that idea so he insists on trying the amontillado
  • Falling action
  • *cough cough*
  • Montresor manipulates Fortunato by giving him more wine to follow him into the catacombs. Montressor knows that this is not good for fortunado because fortunado is dunk and he has a cough. therefore the cough montressor has and the catacombs wont let fortunado breathe properly.
  • Resolution
  • *jingling sound of bells*
  • Montressor starts building a wall to trap and kill Fortunado. Fortunado begins to sober up and realizes whats happening and starts screaming in terror. montressor doesn't like fortunado screaming because he wants to focus on building the wall so he starts screaming as well to make fortunado stop.
  • ahhhhhhhh! ahhhhhh!
  • Montressor is almost done with the wall and Montressor starts to cough. Therefore Montressor is starting to suffocate because of the catacombs. this means that montressors plan is working.
  • montressor has finished building the wall. montressor calls fortunado and gets no response. montressor calls fortunado again and all he hears is the jingling of the bells from fortunados costume. This shows that fortunado has died from suffocating.
