A major symbol in chapter two is when george plays solitaire alone in the bunkhouse, this symbolizes all the random events as if they're cards randomly drawn out of a deck. and just like the card-game all is a matter of chance and the same rule implies to the events in they're life. The isolation also contributes to the idea of chance, because the world is unpredictable
In the second chapter lennie and george arrive at the ranch in the late morning and meet some other major characters. The two men show a spirit of human attachment and aspiration especially in the storytelling of George retelling they're dream to own a piece of land. Even though George gets frustrated with lennie sometimes he is committed to him. Stimulating a family.
In the beginning of chapter two slim is automatically described in honor and majesty he is the prince of the ranch, the best at everything and the best looking. He is tall, ageless, and and an expert at his job.
