Mr. Rochester tells Jane she must leave. Jane tells Mr. Rochester that she could take a job in Ireland. She understands why she must leave, but she doesn't wish to.
"'Because you are sorry to leave it?'"
Mr. Rochester asks Jane to marry him. Jane thinks he is joking and is very hesitant to answer him.
"I do; and if an oath is necessary to satisfy you, I swear it."
"Then, sir, I will marry sir."
Mr. Rochester kept asking Jane if she was happy, he wanted to make sure that this is what is wanted.
"'Are you happy, Jane'"
