Storyboard Text

  • Mia and James are on there way to a dinner to discuss about nuclear energy.
  • Nuclear fusion is when an atomic nuclei that has a low atomic number combines to form a heavier nucleus with the release of energy. Nuclear fusion was discovered by Hans Bethe around the 1930's.
  • So, what is nuclear fusion?
  • Well, nuclear fusion is found on the sun and star because it needs high temperatures too generate light and heat.
  • Tell me more!
  • Two or more small nuclei combine to form a single larger nucleus, a neutron, and a tremendous amount of energy. For example when the sun is a main sequence star it generates its energy by nuclear fusion of hydrogen nuclei into helium.
  • Fusion is an alpha decay. Alpha decay are unstable atomic nuclei that dissipate excess energy by spontaneously ejecting an alpha particle
  • Finally I have an idea of what nuclear fusion does!
  • Now you know at least something about nuclear fusion
