  • 1886: THE KING IS DEAD, LONG LIFE TO THE KING!
  • The king is dead, and the queen is giving birth…
  •   1886-1902: REGENCY OF MARIA CHRISTINA, HIS MOTHER
  • Yes, you might be the king, but I am still your teacher! 
  • 1902-1921 :A KING FOR AN INSTABLE COUNTRY
  • I’m not a conspiranoic. They really want to kill me!!!
  • Alfonso was born in Madrid on May 17 (1886), six months after the death of his father.
  • 1921-1930: CRISIS AND DECLINE
  • No matters, chicken meat is cheap.
  • He received an education based on History, Linguistic, Military instruction and other disciplines as physical strength (swimming and riding).
  • 1930-31: REPUBLIC IS COMING!
  • Children, come inside! It’s raining!
  • At the age of 16, he was crowned king of Spain. Political life was very instable and he had to deal with several crisis. He suffered many plots to assassination.
  • 1931-1941: EXILE AND DEATH
  • In 1921, 10.000 Spanish soldiers are massacred  in the battel of Annual, and after that he supported Primo de Rivera as a dictatorship military.
  • He had six children with Queen Victoria Eugenia, six known illegitimate children and other unknown descendants.  In 1930 the dictatorship came to an end, and in 1931 Spain became a Republic.
  • Alfonso XIII travelled to several countries and finally settled in Rome. In 1941 he abdicated in his son Juan and then died.
