  • My family! I lost my everything!
  • Unfortunately, Safiya's happiness was shattered and she lost her entire family to an explosion.
  • She fled Somalia and came to England, where she moved in with her aunt and cousin.
  • Why do I always feel this way?
  • She was in a whole new country, and didn't speak the language. She often felt anxious and began getting headaches.
  • Honey, are you alright?
  • Her aunt took her to the doctor to make sure she was healthy and doing okay. She was also there to interpret for Sofiya as well.
  • She says she can't sleep at night..
  • Can you ask Sofiya if she has ever seen a psychiatrist?
  • It took her a while to open up and trust her therapist. Her thoughts weighed her down, and by saying them out loud, Sofiya finally felt a sense of relief.
  • At night I can't sleep...I get terrors and see the explosions and graves of my family.
