hey did you know that the federal gov't has little involvement in the specific decisions of education.
WOW ! no I didn't have a clue but a friend of mine was telling me that the federal gov't provides money to the schools and districts
But did you know for the most part the federal gov't doesn't take an active role in public education
hmm..no but I do know that public education has been open to public and has been apart of America since the 17th century
Well you seem to know alittle about how the gov't affects education won't you give me some pointers
well there is the federal gov't which traditionally only provided funds to schools then its state gov't which sets policy education in that particular state and then the local gov't enacts the policy set by the state.
Correct! and i hear that the local gov't offers alittle input and deals with specific day-to-day teaching decisions in a small, local area.
Yeah.. and then somewhere in the middle, the state gov't offers some input and helps guide education in each state.
There is also three major roles that the state gov't takes on in education its an abbreviation of P.A.L. do you know what pal stands for?
Yes i believe the P stands for Policymaker, the A stands for advocate and the L stands for Liaison.
That's so good that you understand the types of govt's i was once a teacher before i retired and you seem to know a lot about how the system works and how the gov't affects education.
Well yes i have taken a class and learned and studied about the state , local , and federal gov't and have learned quite a lot about each one .
