Storyboard Text

  • 1) Exposition
  • There is no way he is going to live.
  • He will live. He is a caul baby.
  • 2) Rising Action
  • Go faster, Doodle!
  • 3) Climax
  • Don't leave me, brother!
  • Doodle is born and everyone except for Aunt Nicey believes Doodle is not going to live. He was born smaller than normal and he was bright red.
  • 4) Falling Action
  • The narrator teaches Doodle how to swim, even though Doodle's body is not strong enough to swim. The narrator pushed Doodle's limits.
  • 5) Resolution
  • The narrator leaves Doodle in a storm and the narrator expects Doodle to catch up to him. Doodle can not run up to him because his body is not strong enough.
  • 6) Conflict
  • The narrator eventually comes back and realizes Doodle has died. He runs toward Doodle and is screaming his name.
  • Doodle, Doodle!
  • The narrator runs over to Doodle and hovers over him. He covers Doodle from the rain.
  • This conflict is man vs. self because Doodle wants to be able to run but his body is not physically able to run.
