  • Conflict
  •                     Rising Action
  • In the story a mongoose, Rikki-Tikki, was washed away from his home from a flood.  He ended up in a garden of a little boy, Teddy, and his family. He became the protector of their family.
  • Climax
  • While Rikki was exploring the garden, he heard some birds crying. He found out that a snake named Nag had eaten on of their fledglings. Rikki knew it was his job to take care of the Cobra. 
  • Falling Action
  • Rikki found out a way to kill Nag. In the bathroom. Nag's wife, Nagaina, was thinking that Teddy's father killed Nag so she was going to kill Teddy's father and the rest of the family.  
  • Resolution 
  • Nagaina had the family cornered at their kitchen table. at the same time Rikki-Tikki-Tavi had Nagaina's eggs and was smashing them. He smashed all, but one. 
  • Rikki brings Nagaina's last egg to her to get her to get away from the family .  Nagaina strikes again and again she misses every time.  she finally got to were she could reacher her egg. She got it and ran. Rikki chased her down a rat hole. 
  • Rikki killed Nagina in the rat hole and everyone started singing a song, " Ding-dong-tock!  Nag is dead--dong! Nagaina is dead! Ding-dong-tock!" Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was very proud of himself. He had a feast and ate to where he couldn't eat anymore. Then he went to sleep.
