Our Highway Transportation System (HTS) is a critical aspect of our lives, without us even realizing it. When we walk to school, or cross the street, we're using and being a part of the HTS.
One major component of the HTS is vehicles. Vehicles can be anything from cars, to buses, trucks---the list goes on and on! We use vehicles to travel to places everyday.
Another major component of the HTS is roadways. These include parking lots, crosswalks, streets, and, obviously, highways. Vehicles travel on these roads, while pedestrians might walk on their street or use a crosswalk to cross the street.
The last major component of the HTS is us! People bring the HTS to life, and without drivers for vehicles or pedestrians for the roadways, there'd be no HTS.
So, the next time you're sitting in a car, or walking to the park....
Remember you're only able to do so because of the Highway Transportation System!
