  •  Tamara have you heard what happen to Mavis? They say she has a personality disorder.
  • What is Personality Disorder? 
  • Wow. Personality disorder is known to be a mental disorder, that affects the thinking, functioning and behavioural patterns of individuals.  
  • Then how Mavis acted is a manifestation of a personality disorder?
  • How is Personality Disorder manifested?
  • Yes it is manifested through violent acts and a combination of genetic and environmental conditions 
  • Tamara, so what are the disorders discussed in the unit 
  • What does Unit 9 state about the disorders criminals display
  • Hickling & Walcott (2013) posits that a personality disorder can be conceptualized as antisocial personalities which include inadequate personalities or paranoid personality

  • yes...a majority of convicted murderers are said to be suffering from aggressive behaviours as they were physically abused as children by their mothers 
  • wow...well we know it's not only in Jamaica these things happen. It happens right here in Trinidad and Tobago.
  • The DSM-V states that there are many types of personality disorders like a paranoid personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder or avoidant personality disorder, just to name a few
