Storyboard Text

  • Missouri Compromise  (1820)
  • Who?
  • Henry Clay
  • Well the Missouri Compromise  was put into place  to keep the North and South equal, so nobody got mad.  Maine came in as a free state  and Missouri as a slave state.  They created an imaginary  line across the continent known as the "36,30".   Anything above  36,30 was considered free, anything below is considered  slave.
  • What was the Missouri Compromise?
  • Maine came into the country as a free state and  Missouri came in as a slave state.
  • Where?
  • Also,  "36,30" would become the go-to thing when it came to new states  joining the US.
  • (South)
  • (North)
  • For now we're equal!
  • This'll do for now
  • Both the North and the South are happy at this point, everything is equal, so stuff is pretty good right now!
  • Impact?
  • The End!!
