  • The first square shows that the point of view is from Melba which means that Melba is the main character in the book. The second square shows that Melba is yelling into the phone at Link, because she doesn´t trust him anymore which is person v. person because Melba doesn´t trust Link and Link wanted Melba to trust him.
  • Person V. Self and Antagonist
  • They shouldn´t be coming here, GO HOME!!!!
  • First square represents that Melba is bigger than the other 8, so she is the protagonist because she is the main character. Next square shows different similies from the book which means that there are many different representations in the book.
  • Climax
  • First square show that the main setting for the book is Central High because thats where most of the conflict is in the book.Next square shows Person V. Society by showing that the white people were against Melba and the other 8 coming to Central High because the white people didn´t like the Little Rock 9.
  • Exposition
  • We don´t serve N******!.
  • First square shows how Melba was thinking about giving up, which was a personal decision so it was person v. self because she didn´t know if she wanted to give up or keep fighting. Next square shows that the white people are the antagonists in the book because they did´t like black people and they kept trying to hurt the Little Rock 9.
  • The climax is when the Little Rock 9 were able to get into Central High because that was when the rest of the story started to explain what happened in Central High.
  • Young Melba not being able to get what she needed as a baby and almost died is the exposition because it started off with the first conflict and showed that Melba had experienced racism before.
